#TheReadingQuest Day 3 Check In

Hey everyone! Today we’re doing a quick check in with my progress in #TheReadingQuest. If you’re not sure what this is about, check out my introduction post and TBR here.

Firstly, here is my character card! I’m not quite as experienced with the photoshop as some others, but I still really like it!

As you can see, I have 30 EXP. As you gain 10 EXP for each book read (with exceptions for graphic novels and marginalised authors), and you start with 10 EXP, I’ve read two books. Let’s have a look at my game board.

So, I’ve completed two spaces. Unfortunately, none have been on my chosen path or my TBR books, however I’m hoping to get to a few of them next!

My first book was Her Perfect Life by Sam Hepburn and I counted it towards the middle right space which was ‘Respawn – Read a book you previously DNF’.

I did previously DNF this book last month. It wasn’t because I didn’t enjoy it, but I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and this is a slow burner and didn’t grab me immediately. It wasn’t right for me at the time, but I’m so glad I read it now! I’ll go into my thoughts more in depth in my wrap up, but I gave this 4/5 stars.

My second book counted to the middle space of the board which was ‘Open World – Read whatever you want’. This is because this book didn’t fit any of the side missions or main quests in the path I’ve chosen. However, I still picked this up on a whim when I found it whilst moving books around. The book I read for this was Cell 7 by Kerry Drewery.

I really enjoyed this book! I definitely don’t regret reading this even though it didn’t really fit in with my TBR. I gave this 4.5/5 stars.

So that’s us for days 1-3! I’m really hoping that in the next wrap up I’ll have some books from my main TBR to be sharing with you!
