Hey everyone! Just a quick intro in to the readathon I’m currently participating in.. BookBuddyAThon! This readathon runs from 6-12 May and consists of 5 main challenges.
The idea of this readathon is to get a book buddy and work the readthon with them. My book buddy is Jes, you can find her on Twitter at @Unglamstar – give her a follow! 🙂
Buddy read a book
The idea behind this is to just pick a book that both you and your buddy want to read and read it together! We have chosen to read a set amount of chapters each day and report back after that. The Woman in Cabin 10 is a book that was on both of our TBR’s and also a shorter book, making it easier to fit in a weekly readathon with 4 other books.
Pick a book starting with your buddy’s initial
This one is just as it says, find a book where the title starts with the first initial of your buddy’s name. I (obviously) had J, and I actually found this one quite hard, there didn’t seem to be anything on my current TBR that would fulfill it! Fortunately, I went on my Kindle Unlimited and found this one which looks quite interesting. This is the only one in the readathon that might change, but for now, I’m looking forward to it.
Pick a book with your buddy’s favourite colour
My buddy’s favourite colour is teal. The UK edition of The One Memory of Flora Banks worked perfectly for this. I’ve had this for a while, but it seems to be getting a lot of hype lately after the US release, so I’m excited to get to this. It’s also another shorter book, so works well for the readathon.
Pick 3 books, your buddy chooses one
For this one, I picked The Couple Next Door, If I Was Your Girl and All The Bright Places, all books from my monthly TBR list. Jes chose If I Was Your Girl for me. I’m extremely excited for this one, I’ve heard incredible reviews!
Guilty pleasure book or a book you’ve been meaning to read for a while
I have no other excuse for not having read this book yet other than procrastination! I pre-ordered this book as soon as I could for UK release and it came on the day of release. Since then, it’s sat on my bedside table begging to be read and I am truly excited for it. It’s a shorter book too, but I keep deviating to other books! So this is on my list, I NEED to read it!
So, as I post this (a little bit delayed as I’ve been busy) it’s the 7th and day 2 of the readathon. So far, so good and I’ve got high hopes!
Thanks for reading. Looking forward to many more buddy reads and readathons in the future!
