Glossybox December

Hey everyone! Today I decided we would look at Glossybox’s gorgeous December box.

First of all, that packaging is just gorgeous. I always love the Glossybox packaging, and I actually reuse all of the boxes I get as they’re really good quality, but this one was just fabulous. Around the edge of the lid was all gold trim to match the logo, extremely elegant and clean. But that aside, lets get in to the amazing goodies I received!

  1. Lipcote – £3.99

This definitely wasn’t a brand or product I had heard of before Glossybox. When I got it, I was extremely interested because the idea of making my lipstick water resistant? Yes! Especially in the winter, when I want to wear liquid lipsticks less because they’re so drying. The first time (and only time) I tried this, it seemed to react with my lipstick. Firstly, it burned. However, they do state on the packaging that it’ll tingle/burn a little but should go away pretty quickly. It did. However, I didn’t read the packaging (as usual) until my lips were already burning and I had convinced myself I was going to have fat lips for the duration of Christmas. Anyway, this actually made my lipstick transfer more. It made it incredibly sticky and uncomfortable, I really didn’t like it. I was quite disappointed, because for £3.99, a product like that is incredible. It also smells quite strongly of chemicals, which I know would put quite a lot of people off. However, I’m not giving up on this just yet, I’ll try it with a different formula/different lipstick. Maybe I just had a bad match.

2. Essence – Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette – £3

This is gorgeous. There is also quite a lot of product for it being in such a small, handy size for travelling. All three of these colours work for me (although I do have to mix the one on the far right with the middle one to lighten it up a little), and I think it gives great versatility for your look. Definitely perfect for travelling as well, you’re getting 3 option in one. Another brand I hadn’t heard of/tried before Glossybox.

3. Revlon Nail Polish in Valentine – £6.49

This is a really gorgeous colour. It took me two coats to get a nice even base, and I did put a top coat on to stop it from chipping. Revlon nail polishes are always good quality, so I was excited to have another one in a Christmas shade to add to my collection.

4. MDMFlow – Semi Matte Lipstick in Vamp – £18

First of all, can we just appreciate the fact that this is full size and almost twice the price of Glossybox alone? Earlier in the month Glossybox let us choose between two colours, this and a nude shade, but stated it was subject to availability. I’m so incredibly happy that I got my vamp shade! This colour is gorgeous and I’m already addicted. It’s semi matte, so it’s not incredibly drying on the lips. It does transfer, but the colour doesn’t fade from your lips. It will fade a bit on the inside after eating, but nothing a quick touch up won’t fix.

5. Collection Cosmetics – Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder – £4.19

I’m not sure about this one. I just can’t seem to get it to work. There seems to be some sort of ball on the inside and if you shake it, it adds loose product to the brush. The brush is quite hard, almost like the lip of an eyeliner pen. Sometimes I would shake the product, take it out, draw, and nothing would come out. There’s a pretty high chance I’m not using this right, so I’m going to keep trying.

Total worth of Glossybox: £35.67

Once again Glossybox has completely outdone themselves. Even though I have a few products in this one I’m not sure about, it doesn’t bother me at all. For two reasons: one, I’m glad I got them to try out and two, I need to give them a bit more time before making a solid decision. For the lipstick alone, this was more than worth it. 100% love my Glossybox subscription!
