Beauty Advent Calendar Round Up – Days 1-5 W7

Hey everyone! This is the final installment in the first roundup of my beauty advent calendars. In this one, we’re looking at W7. I have already reviewed the W7 advent calendar, so I’ll just be picking some pieces from there.

This retailed for £29.95. In terms of the packaging, I think it’s really cute. It definitely has a running theme and it’s definitely screaming Christmas. This is probably my second favourite in packaging after the M&S Calendar. Again, the packaging in this one was quite hard to open, seems to be a running theme.

  1. W7 Glitter Pot

My review: 2.5/5

This, in my opinion, is pretty much a filler product. The amount of glitter actually in the product is basically nothing. I don’t have many things I could make use for this out of, for me it’s just something that’ll sit in my desk until I throw it out. The glitter is quite big and chunky, the only thing I would ever possibly use it for is in a nail varnish.

2. W7 Lip Gloss

My review: 3/5

In terms of sample size, this is a pretty decent sample. This gloss is a little bit sticky, but you can’t expect too much when you’re shopping with a cheaper drugstore brand. It has a nice sheer coverage, something that’s perfect for quick application on days where you’re just having a more ‘nude’ lip. It’s an easy size for application. Strangely, the lid has a hole through it as if you could attach it to a keyring or something. Pretty novelty for younger people I imagine.

3. W7 Lipstick

My review: 3/5

Again this is a pretty decent sample size. It is a very ‘Barbie’ pink, so honestly not a colour I would ever wear. I’m starting to think that this beauty calendar may be aimed at people slightly younger than myself! It’s pretty pigmented, does tug a little at the lips during application. It lasts through drinking but not through food. It’s a little uneven after application sometimes, does take a few swipes to get an even base.

4. W7 Nail Polish – Red Glitter

My review: 4/5

This is quite a cute little polish, definitely small enough for travel. I do like the colour, it took about two coats to get a solid colour. The glitter disperses pretty evenly and it looks really nice on. This did chip quite easily, but then again I didn’t put a top coat on, so I can’t judge too much. All in all, a pretty decent polish.

5. W7 Glitter Pot

My review: 2.5/5

I can’t really say much more for this one than I did for the other glitter pot in day one. It’s just a different colour version of the same thing.

And that’s us, all four calendars have had their five day round ups! If you missed them, you can find Marks & Spencers, Technic and Colour Couture.
